ANIMATION
I started my career as an animator before moving into directing and I still love the process of acting in slow motion that is animating a scene one shot at a time.
Zeke’s Pad
This is a test I did of a new rig that allowed animators independently move any part of the character we wanted to. It was big change from the old rigs where animators were restricted to simple rotating limbs and joints like on a puppet and a first step towards treating 3d rigs like 2d animated characters.
Animation Mentor
I enjoyed taking the Animation Mentor program well into my career as a director. I learned better how to direct modern animators and had fun brushing up on my rusty keyframe skills. It was really fun to animate Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant in one of their typically understated scenes.
Animation Mentor
All of the Animation Mentor exercises were a rewarding to work through and a treasure trove of learning.
Viva Pinata
As an episodic director on the Loony Tunes-esque series Viva Pinata, I was able to animate a scene here and there. It was a little added bonus to very fun production.
